Somatic Experiencing therapy (SE) is a body focused trauma therapy created by Dr. Peter Levine. Many of the trauma-based therapies fail to connect the mind to the body to re-negotiate trauma memories. The body and mind are inevitably connected. Somatic Experiencing is an approach to treating individuals affected by trauma. It is a very gentle and powerful therapeutic intervention for persons of all ages affected by trauma. SE is also a very helpful intervention for individuals suffering from chronic pain and chronic health conditions.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Advanced level Somatic Experiencing (SE) practitioner. My beliefs are that healing is a journey and lies within each of us. Therapy is a collaborative approach between therapist and client. The therapist merely acts as a guide for the client to find the right path of healing.
My passion is to help others overcome life’s challenges and come through with a renewed perspective and a stronger sense of self. My own journey through chronic pain and illness led me to the body centered therapy approach, Somatic Experiencing (SE).
I’ve worked with adults, adolescents, and children with a variety of therapeutic interventions. I have extensive experience working with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. If you’re troubled by life’s challenges and don’t know where to turn, let me help you unlock your healing journey within!
